The week honors the commitment and dedication of automotive, truck and collision technicians, along with parts specialists and other support professionals who serve the motoring public.

Mitchell 1 Offers Test Preparation Help Mitchell 1 is reminding candidates for ASE tests to check out its "2006 ASE Test Preparation Series," which provides the latest in ASE testing and industry information. ASE test candidates are also invited to log onto ASETestPreparation.com for helpful information about ASE certification testing. The Mitchell 1 test preparation series includes updates for the A1-A8, C1, L1, P2 and XI manuals. The full series is a 12-page comprehensive study guide. Test candidates can get help passing the exam the first time by using a variety of sample tests and studying multiple automotive repair illustrations. All guides are available individually or in sets. Spring paper/pencil ASE tests will be administered May 9, 11 and 16 at various locations across the country.

Recyclers Help Celebrate Earth Day On April 22, thousands of professional automotive recyclers celebrated the 35th Earth Day. People everywhere recognize Earth Day as a day to come together to remember and remind others how important it is to respect and protect the earth.
Automotive Recyclers Association members worldwide participated in various events to further raise consumer awareness of the environmental and economic benefits of automotive recycling.
CARSTAR Stores Set Sales Record From CARSTAR Collision Services, a group of collision repair shops in North America, comes word that 11 of its company-owned, non-franchise stores cracked an all-time 17-year sales record for the month of January.
While the success of five individual stores led the blistering pace, sales for all 11 company-owned operations, located in the Kansas City region, added up
to a history-making event. The company-owned stores are among 270 domestic operations and 110 in Canada.
Jiffy Lube Sponsors Scholarships The Car Care Council Women's Board has announced that Jiffy Lube International has agreed to be a sponsor of the 2006 scholarship program. Scholarships will be awarded to female students who are pursuing education to prepare them for a career in the automotive aftermarket. Scholarships are available for postsecondary students who have completed one year at an ASE-certified postsecondary automobile technology program, and high school seniors who plan on attending an ASE-certified, postsecondary automobile technology program. I-CAR Annual Meeting Set for Aug. 2-6 You're invited to join I-CAR and the collision industry in getting "Revved Up for Training." Industry professionals and their families will gather for the 2006 I-CAR International Annual Meeting Aug. 2-6 in San Jose, Calif.

I-CAR to Present Technology Showcase at NACE The International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE) has announced that the Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair (I-CAR) will develop, plan and implement eight clinics to be offered on the NACE show floor in the I-CAR Technology Showcase. "Who better than the industry's training leader to run these clinics? Having the I-CAR name associated with on-floor education will lend tremendous credibility to these clinics and promote increased attendance," said Dana Teague, NACE senior show director. I-CAR is an international not-for-profit organization dedicated to training the collision industry. The I-CAR vision is that every person in the collision industry has the necessary technical knowledge and skills relevant to their position to achieve a complete and safe repair. "I-CAR is proud to be working closer with NACE for 2006 with expanded training programs and the unveiling of the I-CAR Technology Showcase," said Tom McGee, I-CAR president and CEO. "During NACE 2006, I-CAR will not only be offering several I-CAR training programs on Wednesday, we will be adding the availability of I-CAR training programs on Saturday." On Wednesday, there will be six programs: three in the morning and three in the afternoon. On Saturday, two morning programs will be offered. Registration for the I-CAR training programs will be available at the NACE Web site at www.NACEexpo.com beginning in early July. Register early as these may sell out quickly. NACE 2006 will be held Nov. 1-4 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. The educational conference will run from Nov. 1-4 (Wednesday-Saturday), and the exposition will take place Nov. 2-4 (Thursday-Saturday). The event will again be held during Automotive Aftermarket Industry Week (AAIW), taking place that same week in Las Vegas.
